The Delicious Time I Spent In Cape Town
Other than my work, another driving force in my life is food. I am a huge foodie therefore when I got a break from the office I made it a rule to visit new places, while most people go to new place to witness the history of the place hidden in its monuments, I travel to taste various new delicacies and then I blog about the dish. After completing my last project, my seniors were happy with me agreed on me taking a small break. I completed the little jobs that were left in my hand immediately and planned to travel to Cape Town and spend mt little vacation.
Taking an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town
The distance from Johannesburg to Cape Town was only for a couple of hours. But as the plan was made in the last minute, I didn’t take any chance and started searching for flight online. After searching thoroughly I selected a seat on one of the flights from Johannesburg to Cape Town that was under the Ethiopian Airlines. Since Icould receive a certain percentage of discountson my seat, I booked it immediately. Even though I had not travelled with them before, I was happy to read the reviews and with my economic class window seat.
Enjoying at the Avenue Hotel
For booking the hotel also I started looking online. I didn’t want to waste any moment of my holiday searching for a place in live in that new city. I needed a place which was safe, fine and came at a reasonable rate. On the online sites, I went through the reviews of several hotels. Whole searching I noticed the Avenue Hotel and the reviews confirmed my list of requirements. Thought the price of the room was a little above my budget, I booked it.
- The hotel was a 3-star hotel
- The room that I was in was very large and very clean. I was also supplied with all the amenities. The room was not only well deigned but was also finely lit. It was very relaxing to me.
- The hotel had the essence of the Old Cape Town that people talk about.
Tasting the delicacies of Cape Town like Bunny Chow and ShisaNyama
Since I am a foodie, I love tasting and trying various kinds of dishes that are famous in various places. Therefore I couldn’t resist from trying Bunny Chow andShisaNyama since these dishes are well known in Cape Town.
Bunny Chow: this is a fast food dish, where a curry is poured to fill the bread. The food was tasty and spicy and later I came to know that the food had come from the Indian Origin.
ShisaNyama: this food is mainly made out of chicken breasts. When I tasted it, I felt it was like the barbequed chicken. The spice made it new and then I learnt that there’s a festival named after this dish; the ShisaNyama festival.
